| Do rescue dogs make good family pets? Absolutely! These dogs are usually victims of unusual family circumstances such as divorce, illness, loss of jobs, etc. They come into the rescue program through no fault of their own and make excellent family companions. Where do rescue dogs come from? Most dogs come from the families who are no longer able to keep them, however some are rescued from the local animal control facilities. How do I get a rescue dog? Simply complete the rescue form and send it in. Each potential home is screened and interviewed to ensure that your facilites are appropriate for an Irish Setter. You may also fax, phone or email us to let us know you are interested in finding out more about rescue dogs. How frequently are rescue dogs available? This differs from month to month. However we can usually refer you to another Irish Setter rescue organization if we do not have a dog currently available for you. Let us know what age dog you are interested in and we will try our best to find one for you. We have a large network so we can usually accommodate your needs. How will I know if it's the right dog for me? Each dog is evaluated and we try very hard to match the right dog with the right home. All rescue dogs come with a lifetime return policy. In other words, if you are no longer able to keep the dog, we want them back to ensure that they are placed in a new forever home. |
